We have an interesting case, we are dealing with a calcified hematoma
secondary to birth trauma using a suction device to deliver the baby. There
are few research articles which discuss treatment options other than just
using a helmet. Some articles don't even suggest a custom helmet, so we are
looking for some treatment guidelines when the doctor orders a helmet. We
only assume the treatment guidelines are similar to cranial asymmetry with
plagio using pressure gradients to reshape with growth. The most
significant calcified prominence is on the proximal cap right side which can
easily be seen. It may be slightly similar to a posterior vault with
brachio, but its forward in location getting close to an D shaped opening
trim line.
We are not sure of pressure gradients, trim lines or suggested full symmetry
mods, or treatment length?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
