Hello Wil, and everyone,
I am working on a summary and a cover letter for this document, to
summarize the important points of this White Letter. (Or does someone
else, OPGA, VGM have a summary of the main points already written that we
can use???)
There is a LOT of information in this document, with good facts, figures and
examples of what is going on.
I will share this Cover Letter with anyone who is interested, so you can
attach this cover letter to the document, and then send it to your elected
officials.
Many of you might remember that a few of us went to Washington, DC in
September. We met with the staff of one of the Senators from Indiana. I
also met with my congressman and his staff to talk about what is going on
with Medicare and these audits. We also discussed what Obamacare is going
to do to prosthetics and they agreed that when they read this new bill, that
Orthotics and Prosthetics were NOT in the essential benefits package of
the bill. This is something else that we must address here soon.
This is a great letter, and an opportune time with the new Congress just
taking their seats and getting involved with the issues in this nation.
We need to get this letter and packet on the desk of EVERY Senator, and also
EVERY member of Congress.
I will get this packet on the desk of:
Senator Donnely (IN)
Senator Coates (IN)
Congressman Todd Young
I will also send these packets to my state Senators and Representatives.
We need to get this information out about how unfair these insurance
companies (who are contracted by Medicare) are treating the providers, and
ultimately affecting the care that our seniors and Medicare beneficiaries
are getting today.
Thanks Wil and everyone. Let's ALL get busy and get this out now.

Hello Colleagues and Guests,
We would like to get a head count regarding the white paper distribution
to legislators. As such, if you are willing to copy and distribute these
documents to your legislators, would you please send me an email so I
can get a sense of where and how many legislators will be receiving the
documents. As I mentioned in an earlier post, we should include local,
state, and federal legislators. Many of you may not be aware of the
similar tactics that are starting to come from private insurance carriers.
It would be beneficial if you would provide a list of the legislators,
and any others that you deem important, along with your email. That is
not required, but it would help. More and more, we hear about
legislators telling folks that they did not know that the Medicare
issues were such a problem and that they have received few complaints.
I hope you will send your packages using certified mail, return receipt.
This is a powerful deterrent to someone claiming that they did not
receive the information.
Hopefully many of you are on-board with this project and will reply
soon. Thanks.
