Hello all,

I am doing research in regards to which software is most successful for
paperless office. I'd like something that offers a variety of functions such
as charting, scheduling and others.

We are a family owned O & P facility with two Practitioners and service
multiple locations so portability is a must. We also don't want to break the
bank so cost vs benefit feedback is desired.

Advice, thoughts and recommendations appreciated.

Thanks!

Overwhelming the majority (24/26) recommended OPIE Software but did mention
that it has it's limitations. However, they did give kudos to OPIE for
evolving and staying current with trends in the industry. One voted for
Medex and the other Futura. I did have two practitioners kindly offer to
open their doors and allow me to visit and see OPIE in action- If I lived
closer I would.

Select Quotes:

   - OPIE, OPIE, OPIE... (We are in the 3rd year and it is the only way to

survive this ever changing business environment!!!)

   - I have been paperless with OPIE for the past 2 years. Our charts are
completely paperless. We get faxes into the office via email in .pdf
format that attaches well into OPIE.For accounts payable, we scan packing
slips and invoices into OPIELite and QuickBooks. The number one reason I
selected OPIE was that it is clinically driven and constantly
improving. They have iOS/Android tablet applications for portability.

   - We've had Futura for many years and are totally DIS-satisfied with the
program and the costs. We're about to purchase OPIE. It bills out thru
Zirmed-very fast payments. It's not a cheap program but it will make our
office paperless and much more efficient.

   - I recommend OPIE software. We are not completely paperless but
greatly reduced. I have three offices with 9 practitioners. I log in from
home to do patient notes if needed (IMAC, IPAD, Mac Book Pro) or order
parts for patients even when I am on vacation. I can review billing,
inventory, reports on referrals, etc.The bigger issue should be compliance
instead of “paperless” with today's Medicare standards both written and
unwritten. It's hard to stay up to date and run a company so OPIE has been
a godsend. Paul P is a CPO and owner of OPIE. He deals with the business
side everyday and implements items in the software that make sense. *You
need to consider how much money you will lose by not implementing
software. *(This was maybe the most relevant comment to me)

   - I was a single practitioner with only a 30 hour per week office
person. That was when I started using OPIE. * They made me look like a
million bucks. Better than hanger.* Opie was developed from the ground
up by a practitioner. I absolutely love it and credit them with me still
being in business. Who cares about the initial cost? The benefit received
is HUGE! And I have fewer staff because of OPIE. (Second most relevant
   comment)

We've got a demo scheduled with the OPIE people so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks Everyone!
