I am setting here thinking about all of the different ways to combat Medicare request for information on prosthetics that have already been deliveried as well as preventing this in the future. As in the early part of the 90's when Medicare came up w the diabetic shoe bill to prevent fraud because as we all know this is all about fraud and attempting to prevent it. Why have we or Medicare not come up w a form for lower extremity prosthetics that clearly defines what is needed and prescribed and fit to the patient. to avoid these problems. I am currently created a form that uses Medicare's own wording which comes from the web sight. which is the documentation checklist . I am interested in your comments or suggestions. I will share the final draft with everyone to see and possible use in your own practice but as we all know this still has to come from Medicare.
