A colleague has asked me to pass the information below along to the list-serv. I have not attended this conference, nor am knowledgeable about it. I am merely passing along the information.

FATO Congress in Ivory Coast, Sept. 2013 < <URL Redacted>>
The African Federation of Ortho-prosthetist Techniens /Federation Africaine des Techniciens Orthoprotesistes (FATO) will hold its 7th Congress in Yamoussokro, Cote d'Ivoire from 9/30-10/5/13.
The theme is: Addressing barriers to Development of rehabilitation: good practice for the national plans with sessions on national policy, policy and regulatory mechanisms, human resources strategies, funding and collaboration for national plans, and decentralizing and expanding service delivery, as well as special-interest topics. Topics address all aspects of
physical rehabilitation (PT, orthotics/prosthetics, education, management, CBR) and are in English and French.
FATO is an association run by Africans for Africans with good representation from the entire continent-French and English countries, North Africa and Sub-Saharan, and rich and poor countries. Participants include all rehabilitation professionals.
If you are interested in physical rehabilitation in Africa, I strongly recommend that you consider attending; it promises to be a valuable and informative event. Check out their website for more information and feel free to contact me if you'd like.
