I work in an O&P office that is currently in the process of going through post payment appeals and payment offsets for claims Medicare states we were paid for in error. These claims were for lower limb prostheses and all are being denied at both the Redetermiantion and Reconsideration appeal levels.
We have recently send off several appeals to the Administrative Law Judge. As far as a timeline for their response, I have only been able to find out they have 90 days to make a decision once the case is heard. I have been unable to locate any information on how long they have to actually hear the case from the date they receive my appeal request.
My questions are as follows:
1.) Has anyone gone through this process and if so, has the process been completed and what was your outcome?
2.) Do you have any information or tips you feel would be helpful in this process?
Any information you are able to pass my way would be greatly appreciated.
