Dear List Members:
Most of you who are Medicaid Providers for Florida may have seen in your current Remittance Advice documents claims which have been marked for recovery for a variety of reasons. Possibly, as was the case for us, funds have started being recovered from your current claim payments for these funds. There are a variety of Reason Codes given, but this is in response to an audit that was done by HP Enterprise Services, the fiscal agent for Florida Medicaid. I have called and discussed the matter with them, letting them know that no prior notification of the audit was provided, nor was there any time-frame for justification of overpayments or an opportunity to confirm the audit results.
I am asking Florida Medicaid providers in a similar situation to contact HP Enterprise Services at 1-800-289-7799 Opition 7. I have requested a copy of the letter (which we never received) and have filed a complaint with the department requesting further information.
Please call and voice your concerns to the agency so that they know where we stand on this issue. Recovery without prior notification is not proper procedure!
