Dear List,

I have a very active 19 y.o. woman who has developed dropfoot due to a suspected tractioning injury - During a cross country run she stepped into deep mud and rapidly torqued and tractioned the leg. I am looking for a durable Carbon Fobre AFO which will provide maximum push off from energy return. I have used Toe-off, Matrix and Centri Dynamic Walk in the past for less active patients - I was wondering if anyone prefers any other styles for running activities. Pros or Cons of the different style/manufacturers would be greatly appreciated.

The patient has Gr 1/5 Dorsi/Plantarflexors, Grade 3 Inverters/Everters. She would like to continue running and playing rugby.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions - And Thanks Paul P. for coordinating this valuable forum. I will post responses anonymously.
