Hello List,
I'd like to take a moment to recognize all of the Veterans of all of the Military services today, Veterans Day. Many of us got our start in Orthotics and Prosthetics through the service, treating the Wounded Warriors of many of the current and past years conflicts. Myself, for 8 years as a 42 Charlie in the US Army. Those persons we treated during those troubled times, provided the foundation for our profession as we continued to grow in the years following.
Currently, we are all practicing in difficult times of audits, referrals and reimbursements. This list is full of these stories; these are truly challenging times. What the future will bring, is undecided at best. One thing that I'd like to remind us all on this special day of remembrance is that regardless of the trials within our daily practices, whether it be with Audits, reimbursements or referrals, think of the reason that we have chosen this field, was to make a difference in people's lives. Today, remember those who keep us free; those persons who have had an unfortunate incident while protecting our country and rely on us to help restore some sort of normalcy to their lives.
