Hello Colleagues
I am interested in your opinions on using elevated vacuum in a
trans-femoral socket with a frame-style socket. I have a client who
enjoys flexible areas in his socket for a more natural feel and sitting
comfort. I am considering elevated vacuum for him to improve his
proprioception and volume stability. It would seem contra-indicated
since vacuum needs to be applied to a rigid container to avoid collapse
of the container. Has anyone tried this, perhaps with lower levels of
vacuum. What valve / socket connection are you using?
Thanks for any responses,
Markus Säufferer, B.Sc.(kin), C.P.(c)
