My office is having difficulty with devices being denied. I guess our biggest issue is we are calling to verify coverage and benefits and checking if a device needs to be authorized. The majority of the times the united healthcare person on the phone is saying no auth is necessary and we billed and denied for no auth. They aren't willing to back date an auth or anything like that. Also we call care management for the auth's and the care management dept is stating no auth yet we get denied as no auth or not a valid and billable code and we even give them the reference number for our insurance verification calls and UHC is saying we didn't ask the correct questions with the codes we are billing. Has anyone else experienced this problem with them or another insurance company? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
