Canadian friends,
I got a tax amendment letter in the mail today from one of the
country's largest distributors. They apparently neglected to bill me
for 3.5 years worth of sales taxes. Did anyone else receive this? I
am amazed that they would be asking for this now, and wonder whether
it is even legal for them to request it.
I feel it is similar to me asking someone for the sales tax on a pair
of shoes, two years after they were worn out. It is a mistake, and a
very costly one on their side. I can only imagine what other larger
facilities' bills look like- I don't do much business with them, but
it is enough to make me sick to see this invoice on my desk.
I am interested to hear if anyone else has received this bill, and
what they plan to do about it.
Thanking you in advance,
Jen
