Hello list,
From those who have had experience with bilaterals using traditional, non
mpc knees only please.
I have a 24 year old bilateral tf/kd who I am sponsoring for his first full
prosthetics, he has been wearing stubbies that I helped set him up with
after he recieved poor care elsewere.
He ran marothons prior to his accident and is currently wearing his
stubbies 14-16 hours a day, he is very motivated. The patient is 145 lbs.
5'10 he will be receving suction sockets. His goals include normal
community ambulation and driving a standard transmission.
1. What knee would you use, knowing cost savings would be helpful due to
the charitable nature of this situation
2. Any other advice on set up and alignment and adjustments with your
favorite knee would be very helpful.
3. Video or pictures would be very helpful
This is my first bilateral without microprocessor knees,
Thank You,
Michael Arnette BOCPO, LPO
