Dear List:
Chung Shi is partnering with PrimeCareofficials, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Memphis, the West Tennessee Partnership for Haiti and St. Vincent’s Center forHandicapped Children in Haiti to provide footwear for disabled children who arestill suffering from the effects of earthquake that devastated that country back in 2010.Chung Shi has already funded over 100 pairs. At this year's PrimeFare East Symposium in Nashville, we invite you to take the opportunity to further this effort. A small donation of $10 will purchase a pair of Dux shoes for a child at St. Vincent's.
St .Vincent's Center For Handicapped Childrenis a residential and day school for seriously handicapped children in Port au Prince, Haiti. The center provides for the residential, nutritional and medical needs of some 300 children mostly of elementaryschool age. The center, like many institutions in Haiti, is chronicallyunderfunded and relies heavily on the help and support of caring individualsand groups in the United States. Some provide financial assistance whilesome others donate professional skills or needed items through missions to the school insupport of urgent needs or continuing programs. Since the devastation of the earthquake there in 2010 theneed is even greater than ever.
I know that many in our field have made the trip to St. Vincent's to provide prosthetic and orthotic care, while others have donated equipment and components, particularly during the aftermath of the hurricane, so you may already be familiar with the wonderful work this Center does.
