Thanks to all of you who responded to my original post:
I have a patient/client who uses Bil TT endo's w/ pin suspension (no sleeves) who will be doing his first skydiving jump (a Father's Day present from his wife and son). At the very least, I will suggest that he apply suspension sleeves for this event. Specifically, I would be concerned about the slipstream pulling on the prostheses as he exits the door w/ his jumpmaster. He will be wearing a jumpsuit.
Any suggestions/experiences would be very welcome.
Many of you are wearers and jump!! You are the intrepid ones and I give you tremendous credit. Myself, I have always been too scared to try it.
My person will be doing his first jump and it will be in tandem with the instructor. Although he will not be bearing the ground impact this time, he does have Triton Vertical Shock feet.
Most replies suggested suspension sleeves at least, and more than a few said they would also use a temporary suspension belt w/ attachments to the prostheses. Taping the sleeves down and/or taping the outside of the jumpsuit around the ankles, covering the release buttons, were also good ideas. It appears that the slipstream isn't as large an issue as the deceleration could be when the chute opens. And, the methods to secure were suggested to protect people on the ground as well as the wearer in case of detachment.
Finally, to the responder who made the invite to come and do the first jump for free in Hawaii; my guy would love to, but the airfare is too high!! (:-)
