It is clear from the numerous (2) responses I received that no one has a
clear understanding about technical bio mechanics and advisability of
using Shock absorbers for an AK , in particular with knees that have
stance flexion.
Heard from one amputee-prosthetist who does like shock absorption with
his Genium, and suggested I just try it and see if the pt likes it. That
is a good idea except that the pylons for the Genium are quite expensive
and once cut to provide room for a shock absorber would be ruined for
use without one. Another prosthetist wondered why you would want the
prosthesis shorter in mid stance and longer in swing.

I suggest that some of the Masters programs out there in Prosthetics
consider doing some research on this topic.
I would also like to see masters programs look at differences between
the current crop of MPK under $20K,
Categorize multi axial dynamic response feet by degrees of
multiaxial-ness and dynamic action, figure out a way to assess/ quantify
smoothness of roll-over of different feet.
