Dear O&P Community,
The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists' Gait Society is rolling out several new initiates this spring to support our mission of promoting gait analysis education for members to improve the functional abilities of physically challenged individuals. I am leading one such initiative called the Textbook Club. The plan is to slowly review a gait-related textbook and foster online discussion about our readings.
The inaugural book for the Textbook Club is Chris Kirtley's Clinical Gait Analysis: Theory and Practice (2006) ISBN 9780443100093.
If you are interested in participating, we will plan to read one chapter a week (about 20 pages) and take the following week for online discussion.
To join the Textbook Club you will need to:Acquire the textbook.E-mail me at <Email Address Redacted> so that I can send you discussion questions and updates.Become a member of our online community at: www.gait-society.ning.com. Joining the website is free for both Gait Society members and non- members.
Our first reading week starts April 15th so acquire your textbook today! (It's a great way to spend your tax return...)
You will find a flyer as well as a reading schedule attached to this e-mail and online on our networking website: www.gait-society.nigin.com
Happy reading,Sarah Sawers, LCOAAOP Gait Society Membership Coordinator
