“The Rehabilitation and Technologies and Outcomes Lab at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago is conducting a research study to compare the impact on functional outcomes in dysvascular transfemoral amputees with a microprocessor knee vs a mechanical knee. Subjects with above knee amputations must have had the amputation due to circulation problems, must have had their current prosthesis for at least 6 months and must be able to travel to the Rehab Institute of Chicago. The protocol will last for a year and subjects will be studied for 6 months each with their mechanical knee or the C leg. A variety of outcome measures will be assessed at different points in the year. For further information or to refer potential subjects, please contact Robert Lipschutz, CP ( <Email Address Redacted> , 312.238.4137) or Gayatri Mathur, PT ( <Email Address Redacted> , 312.238.3840).”
