Good Morning to the List. I hope this day finds you all well.
I have made many lifts but few as long as this.
I have a gentleman that requires a 7 lift. He's worn one most of his life. His current lift is made of Pedilen foam. It was made very well but his only complaint was the weight. I was planning on making the new one in the same fashion except I'll drill holes in it to reduce weight. Not vertically but horizontally - like a honeycomb - and then putting a leather skin over it.
Here are my questions:
1) Has anyone tried the honeycomb style of taking out weight in a lift? How well did it work for you? I'm anticipating that the triangular matrix that is left will remain strong but lighter than before.
2) Are there any other light-weight materials that have been used successfully?
Thank you for your responses.
