Dear Friend,
Could you please participate in this online survey on Lower limb
prosthesis? One of our colleagues is working on it. It is kind of you to
help him with it.
All the best,
Mahboobeh Mehdikhani
---
My collegues and I from the University of Toronto and Holland Bloorview
Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto, Canada and have developed an
online survey to evaluate the global state of prosthetic services and
technologies provided to amputees requiring lower-limb prostheses. With
sufficient responses, the survey has the potential to highlight important
service- and technology-related needs of populations requiring lower-limb
prosthetic rehabilitation around the world. Although the survey is being
distributed internationally, it is anticipated that the findings may be
most revealing and useful in assessing the status of prosthetic
technologies in under-resourced regions.
It is our hope that the resulting information, once published, will be used
by future researchers to direct their efforts to deliver the most effective
prosthetic devices and treatments. Additionally, the results may be used to
identify priority areas for governments and organizations working to
improve prosthetic-related healthcare services around the world.
The survey is available in English, French and Spanish and is administered
using an internet-based survey tool. The aim is for it available to as many
front-line personnel working in the clinical field of lower-limb
prosthetics around the world. This includes any prosthetist, technologist,
technician, etc. with experience in treating persons with a lower limb
amputation. The survey should not take longer than 20 minutes, responses
are anonymous and confidential and individual results will not be
presented.
