In recent months, my lab has been segueing into a paperless office. The
transition is progressing smoothly, but it occurred to me that we are using
a hosted software by a leading O&P practice management software company.
They have three offsite backup systems to protect all of my data. What
happens to my business if the software company folds? I can back up my
files but the format is proprietary and of little use to me or another software company. On a similar note, am I tied to the same vendor forever as they possess all of my charts?
I welcome all perspectives on this
subject and will post a synopsis.
