From the California Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (COPA)
Oral arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court start on Monday, October
3rd. This now includes an argument by the Obama administration on behalf
of the state of California. A decision is predicted for early first
quarter 2012. California Medi-Cal provider plaintiffs are not optimistic
that they will win. Predictions are 5-4 in favor of the State of
California with Judge Kennedy being the swing vote. Stay tuned for more
information as this lawsuit originating from California unfolds and
providers respond.
