I have received many replies to my post and the same question came up a few times. I do not use these on kids with tone, spasticity or plantarflexion tightness. These are used almost exclusively for toe walking (can also be used for mild, no tone, drop foot).
I forgot to mention something in the post and the video. I was shown this design by Jim Havran, CO. I believe this is his invention. He told me he saw something similar at Cascade, the DAFO guys, but I never found it there. Must be his. I hate saying nice things about my competition, but he is a good guy and very talented practitioner. Ow, that hurt. lol
