I have a 62 yo male, bk patient with disproportionate dwarfism (he is 4' 5 and 110#), who has been using a prosthesis for 30 years. In the past 10 years his function has been decreasing and he has difficulty with walking due to balance and strength issues. He c/o not being able to easily roll over the prosthetic foot. He has worked with multiple practitioners and has tried multiple feet including: Echelon, Tribute, Truper, WalkTek, SACH... nothing feels right to him. Alignment changes have been tried: moving the foot posterior, anterior, DF, PF...

He wants to roll from heel to toe without an effort. He also feels that his knee becomes too stiff and he feels blocked. He had surgery about 1 year ago to correct a severe Varus knee deformity on his prosthetic side, however he feels this has not helped his walking at all.

His sound side is not very healthy with circulation problems and severe external rotation at the hip and pronation of the foot.

He is currently in a supra condylar socket with a pelite liner and sock fit. Hygiene is an issue as well and poor hand dexterity. Pt refuses using a gel liner because of difficulty reaching his limb and problems with his hands.

ANY thoughts or suggestions!

I wondered about a stubbie type rocker foot, or how about a Stomper foot...any thoughts?

Any socket designs to try that could promote improved ROM?
