Hello All,
Only a select few responded about the Proprio Foot. There was some focus on reliability and service history when it first came to market; although more current fittings seem to be improved. I also corresponded with two others privately, one a CP who used the foot. Their opinions focused on reliability, service history patterns, weight, fabrication and real time functionality.
Here are the posts I received:
- I've had a Proprio foot on an active patient for the past 10 months without problems. A little heavy, but the pt likes it very much.
- I have an active 60 year old k-3 ambulator who has been in one for 3 years. He has destroyed the thing every 6 to 9 months. He loves the foot for its intended tricks such as stairs, ramps, but walks on level ground all day. We now have him in a vsp for work and he loves it. This guy weighs 180, so I would say don't put one on a real active guy over 200 lbs. He wears the Proprio when not at work. No maintenaince, just starts to get loose and makes noise. I have to say the foot has never stopped functioning but it sure sounded like it would fall apart at any moment.
- I have a pt who is a bilateral on them. She loves the feet but after 5 mos they are already back for service. That's all the experience I have.
I was hoping to receive more posts about this foot.
