*Call for Symposia and Instructional Courses for ISPO 2013*
Dear Colleagues,
The Scientific Committee for the 2013 World Congress of ISPO has been
working to develop the Scientific program for the Congress. As in past World
Congresses, a major part of the program will consist of Instructional
Courses and Scientific Symposia.
We are writing to members of the worldwide prosthetic and orthotic community
to invite proposals for presenting an Instructional Course or Symposium. We
request basic information about your proposed session: the title, a brief
description of the content, and speakers. Based on the responses we receive,
we will further develop the Congress program. We may not be able to
accommodate all proposals.
We assume that the person proposing the session will be the Chair. Each
session will be one hour and 15 minutes. The session Chair will introduce
the topic and speakers and direct discussion. There are no limits on the
number of speakers, the time allotted to each speaker or the structure of
the session, but time should be allowed during the session for discussion.
The content of Instructional Courses and Symposia should conform to the
following guidelines:
*Instructional Courses* should clearly state the level of the
intended audience in terms of the expected educational qualifications and
experience of the audience in that particular area of treatment – e.g.
student, beginning practitioner, experienced clinician about to specialize
or clinician already specialized.
Instructional courses should not be specific to a particular brand of
product. However, they may deal with a generic (non-branded) range of
products.
Proposals for Instructional Courses should have a statement of the objective
and what the attendees could expect to gain by the end of the course.
*Symposia:* Symposia should present thematically related research
addressing significant problems or controversies in prosthetics and
orthotics. The symposia should bring together one or more of the
world’s leading researchers to present current developments and
planned research
directions. Where appropriate, symposia should present differing
points of view on a particular topic.
Please note that by tradition ISPO does not provide financial support (e.g.
registration waiver, accommodation/travel support) to the Chair or Speakers
of Instructional Courses or Symposia. Please ascertain the availability and
willingness of your speakers to register and attend before making a
proposal.
To submit a proposal for an Instructional Course or Symposium, please fill
up the attached form and e-mail to the Scientific Program Chair, Dr. Ashok
Johari (e-mail: <Email Address Redacted> )
The deadline for submission of proposals is *Friday July 1st 2011.*
Please check the conference website www.ispo2013.org for information
about other aspects of the conference.
We look forward to hearing from you and we look forward to seeing you
in Hyderabad.
Sincerely,
Ashok Johari
