OPERF Announces New Advisory Board Members
The Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and Research Foundation (OPERF)is
pleased to announce the appointment of the following individuals to its
Advisory Board:
Donald Katz, CO, LO, FAAOP
Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children
Dallas, TX
Michael Tompkins
Hanger Orthopedic Group
Austin, TX
Donald Shurr, PT, CPO
American Prosthetics
North Liberty, IA
Fran Varner-Jenkins
Fillauer Companies
Chattanooga, TN
Robert Gailey, PhD, PT
University of Miami School of Medicine
Miami, FL
These individuals will join OPERF Advisory Board Chair C. Michael
Schuch, CPO, FAAOP to help promote and grow the Foundation. The Advisory
Board is responsible for helping to guide the Foundation and the OPERF
Board of Directors in order to best serve our profession and industry.
In 2008 the OPERF was founded as an independent non-profit 501 (c)(3) to
promote education and research in O&P. It is anticipated that by the end
of 2011 it will have awarded nearly $150,000 in grants, scholarships,
and prizes. The Board is committed to growing the Foundation so that
those numbers can increase exponentially in the coming years.
