Colleagues and Guests,

There has been more than one inquiry about the Quengle Hinge recently.
Here is a link to an article that references H. H. Jordan's article
about hemophilia.

<URL Redacted>

The top illustration is the design in Jordan's book and I'm not sure who
designed the lower picture. Jordan's book however has a very detailed
description of the hinge and associated usage. If interested, please
send me an email and I'll try to scan the article and let Paul post it,
provided copyright infringement is not an issue. I have Jordan's book.
There are several articles about the Quengle hinge on the internet, but
Jordan describes the design and usage very well.

We used to use the hinge for knee flexion contractures on hemophilia and
other patients with contractures. As many of you know, many of
the hemophelia patients died from infected blood transfusions that were
not treatable in that day. What a tragedy that was.
