This is another good response - sorry I didn't get it
Dear List Serve

This is another good response - sorry I didn't get it up with the first attempt.

Assembling one right now as I got your email.  I would recommend it if you
are looking to help a patient that is willing to wear a KAFO and has only
mild recurvatum, genu varum/valgum, and foot drop.  There is only so much
adjustability available in bending the metal uprights.

Advantages: Benefits of the Check KO without the suspension issues, very
lightweight, easy assembly
Disadvantages: Doesn’t fit all anatomy, Tough fit on thighs with redundant
tissue

Our experience: it would be ideal to have the thigh cuffs available to try
on the patient if not make sure you check both the m/l and circumference
measurements because the thigh shell is a few sizes fit all.  I would
recommend tracing the patient then assemble between the delivery
appointment.  If you have an hour to assemble it and the patient is willing
to hang around it can be assembled and delivered the same day if you have
all the parts.  Our patients have been satisfied, but be ready to make some
adjustments.
