In our office we have for sometime now been trying to figure out a viable
way to continue to provide therapeutic shoes and inserts to the diabetics in
our community. Unfortunately the more we examine the requirements for
documentation, the less I feel that it is even possible to comply.
I do not wish to withdraw this badly needed care from our clients but given
the detailed information in the checklist we received from the CERT I'm
beginning to think that discontinuing care is the only way to pass an audit.
Has anyone come up with a process or form that shifts the burden of
obtaining the required documentation to the client?
