OK let me be the first to thank everyone who responded to my early question. I am still collecting data and once I have finished with it I will respond with the results req BK casting tech.
Q
I have a pt who is 450 LBS and he is a new AKA. He is active considering his weight.he is a truck drive and a VET.. He went to the VA and they stated that in order for him to receive a leg he would have to walk 200 ft on his sound leg with the use of a walker.
Before the amputation he was active and worker 60 hours a week, but b/c of osteomyelitis he lost his leg. He has the potential to be a K2 K3 ambulatory but other companies have stated that b/c of his weight there is not knee out there that can work for him so they will not make him a prosthesis.
Does any one have any suggestions for a knee unit that would work
Thank you
