Hi Listmembers,
Would using base code L5050 Symes plus add on code L5630 Symes expandable
wall allow the use of L5637 total contact?
Thanks, Randy McFarland, CPO

good question. I would say that if you have contact on all the skin, you
have total contact. It doesn't say that it needs to be rigid.
don't think the two attributes of your socket design conflict with each
other. One is for ease in don/doff; the other is for when the res limb is
completely in the interface.
Absolutely yes, I wouldn't do it any other way.
I've used that coding combination before to describe my supracondylar
suspension even though it was PTB length. I used a flexible inner wall
socket placing a pad on the outside of my durraflex-removing the padding
sfter lamination to give me the void I needed.. I think if you use something
and can justify it, you can bill for it.
well, AOPA interpretation of that code is an additional process to
TRANSTIBIAL prosthetic socket to ensure an initimate and complete surface
contact ...... so, it's your call. on one hand, it's $300. on the other
hand, it's only $300.
