I have a female who works in an auto assembly plant who has a spinal
accessory nerve injury that occurred during a biopsy procedure. The injury
resulted in trapezius palsy. Clinically she cannot abduct her shoulder past
85 degrees and has little forward flexion (strength+2). The patient's job
requires lifting of objects over her head. I need to know if there is any
orthoses and/or designs for this type of injury. I have research O&P online
and I have found several scapular orthoses and one orthosis for shoulder
drop.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of injury and the resulting
trapezius palsy? If so what type of orthosis worked? Any suggestions?
I will post any replies.
