ORIGINAL POST: I understand these splints formerly made by Langer have been
discontinued, but does anyone remember how the child's shoes were attached
to the plastic footplates? Thanks,

Randy McFarland, CPO Fullerton, CA

RESPONSES:

The footplates were glued to the shoes. New footplates were required when
the child outgrew their shoes. We've actually got an original CRS brouchure
here showing the set up and components - if you need I might be able to scan
it and e-mail it through - its about 10 pages long though.

Krazy Glue

They were glued with a Loctite adhesive.

The foot plates were attached with Loctite's equivalent to crazy glue

I have used a plastic plate with two holes punched in it so you can
incorporate the laces through the plastic plate. If the kid's shoes are
velcro, we used to speedy rivet the plate at the base of the tongue onto the
shoe.

The kit came with a tube of what I seem to remember crazy glue like
adhesive, had to rough up the leather too. I also seem to remember that
there may have been a screw to go into the Markel DB shoe. Long time ago.
(CRS) is what I can't to do any more {:~))) I hope it helped somewhat.

CA or crazy glue

There was a clear epoxy adhesive that allowed shoe to be popped off when
outgrown to add a different shoe. I have successfully used Barge with
footplates of shoes and plates scuffed up.
