Hello everyone--

I just received a very interesting phone call from a pediatric nurse here in Phoenix, AZ. After a bit of confusion, I discovered her doctor wants to help a patient living just over the border in Mexico. The patient had craniosynostotic surgery over one month ago and apparently (per the nurse) the parents are upset/the patient still really needs a helmet to provide further correction. I discussed at length with the nurse the process and the follow-up required for a post-op cranial band; she informed me that the patient is in Mexico and has no papers to cross the border. She cannot come to the US for treatment and given the band dynamics/required follow-up, I will not simply provide a generic helmet to mail to them (although I feel that is what the nurse was pushing for).

My question is this: are there any orthotists in Mexico that provide cranial bands?

Thanks in advance for your responses.
