Hi all,
I've got a patient with a brachial plexus injury from a birthing
incident. He left arm is much smaller and fixed at 90 at the elbow and a
non functional hand. He does have some flex/ext of the thumb. He
recently had a very extensive reconstruction of the opposite shoulder
which has left him limited in function. We are looking to do a left
hybrid myo system with a brace attached to a hand so he can grip on the
left to ease some of the burden on his sound side. I have a good idea
of the components I would like to use but my questions are regarding
insurance coverage. I would like to hear from those of you that have
successfully fabricated and billed out a setup like this and how you
went about merging the two fields.
Thanks in advance
Chris
