Hi Everyone,
I wanted to thank all those individuals that provided suggestions regarding individuals working with animals. I have forwarded all the e-mail on to the student and they are very grateful also. I am listing the responses below so everyone on the listserv can benefit. Thank you again for all your help.

Animals are the best to work with. O&P business news dec 1 2000 issue was dedicated to animal o&p. One of my projects was featured, Zeus. I have done several braces for drop paw from radial nerve damage usually related to getting hit by a car. I have made a prosthesis for a black lab that worked out well, he walked well paw over paw and had the neighbors scratching thier heads. I will get some pics together for you. Let me know if I can do anything. I own first choice O&P Kirksville mo. Ted Deininger
Here is a local pedorthist that moved on to just doing O&P for animals.

I have done a number of orthoses for dogs over the past 7 yrs. Mostly for ACL injuries. A couple have been post-op and the others have been when they're to old for the surgery. I've done some research on hip dysplasia's but haven't had to make anything. They get very complicated because of the harnessing that has to take place to hold the affected orthosis in place. You need to go over the dog's lower back (pelvic region) and attach a contralateral thigh cuff to the non affected limb to hold the managed hip's orthosis in place to allow it to do its job.
