List,
Last night I saw the first person in the world wearing the new bone attached upper limb
prosthetic. It was shown on Dean of Invention Show on the green planet channel.
Just as I predicted in past postings, they figured out a way to prevent infection with an implant post imbedded in bone and passing through the skin to connect with a prosthetic.
Snap on, snap off. It was invented at the Royal Orthopedic Hospital in London. They used the model of a deer's antler. The antler is connected to the skull and actually passes through the skin.
The bone near the skin is very porous and tissue actually grows into these tiny pores and prevents infection. The metal implant they use has tiny pores that skin actually grows into and forms the seal. The patient can snap the arm on and off with ease. This patient lost her arm during the extremist Muslim attack on London Transit and is actually now working in a retail dress store in London.
Very telling was the fact that no Prosthetist was interviewed. Just the research orthopedic doctor and the patient. The patient was previously fit with a few different standard arms and did not do well.
This is the first generstion. Give it ten years........snap on, snap off. Get your bone implanted with the connector, then go to Legs R Us and pick out your different legs for different uses. I want the leg that kicks butt!
