Dear List,
We are conducting a study Changes in Sexual Functioning in Persons with
Limb Amputation. The methodology and the content of this study was approved
by a commercial IRB. This is a questionnaire study. We mailed surveys to all
our amputees as well as those, who responded to our previous posts on OandP
and AMP list serves. However, due to the sensitive nature of the study, the
response rate was low, about 13%. As we intend to analyse determinant
functions of many variables, we need as many participants as possible to
draw statistically significant results. The goal is to collect 200 returned
questionnaires for each gender.
Therefore, I am asking facility owners, who are willing to participate in
this study, to involve their amputee patients. We will prepare the mailings
and attach the postage. All you will need to do is print out address labels
and attach to the envelopes. There is no conflict of interest whatsoever.
The surveys are anonymous and the return envelopes are addressed to a P.O.
Box in Brooklyn, NY. Your patient will know neither the sender nor the
recipient of the communication.
This study will be published. Your involvement will be appropriately
acknowledged in the article.
If you are interested and would like to get more information, please
respond.
