Hello List,
Here is the situation. The patient with a Medicaid HMO coverage was fitted
fir a PF prosthesis, said he was comfortable and satisfied with the fit, but
refused to sign the delivery acknowledgement form, demanding that we give
him 3 months trial of the prosthesis. We explained to him the warranty
and return policy , etc., however he would not budge. We refused to give
the prosthesis to him and he left. Now what? Are we allowed to bill for a
refused item? Can anyone direct me to any specific wording in Medicare or
Medicaid manuals?
Thank you.
Stephan
