My name is Hari Vigneswaran and I am a member of a student-run startup based
at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign called Illini Prosthetics
www.illiniprosthetics.com. Our vision is to provide upper extremity
prosthetic limbs to those living in the developing world. Our first trip
will be on July 9th to Zacapa, Guatemala, where we will be working with the
Range of Motion Project www.rompglobal.org clinic. We have developed four
different concept arms for testing with ten patients which have been
arranged through the clinic.

Instead of reinventing the classical prehensor device, we concluded that a
Model 7 work hook and Model 5X adult size hook would be a good place to
start, however we are open to different types of devices. As the hooks are
very expensive and our budget for this work is limited, we wanted to inquire
if anyone on this listserv could either support us with some donated
prehensors or point us in the right direction.

If you have questions or ideas for collaboration feel free to contact me at
708-769-3443 or <Email Address Redacted> Also check out our website at

Thank you so much,
