I am looking for a heavy duty spring to incorporate in a hand-finger
orthosis to manage ulnar and median nerve injury. Patient needs block or
resistance at PIPs 3-5 to allow fingers to extend. Wrist strength is good
and I would like to keep this device from crossing the wrist joint. Patient
overpowers OTS devices provided by O-therapist and breaks the rigid
devices they have provided. I have used Mannerfelt springs and Tamarack
joints in the past to try to provide adequate resistance, but have not been
satisfied with results. Can you guys recommend more appropriate components
or designs.
Thanks for your help.
