Thanks to all who sent answere to my question about the vending machine.
Apparently it is true and Hanger is the company doing it. I was surprised that Medicare would allow this type of sales to happen. I am concerned about who fitts the product, what if adjustments are needed, and I do not mean just tightening up the straps, and who does/is responsible for the patient follow up?
How does Hanger bill for it, if the patient is an inpatient in a hospital don't these items fall under the hospital per diem payment? When my company supplies to an inpatient we bill the hospital, who pays us, What about commercial insurances that have to have a prior authorization for braces, payment will be denied if this is not done and it usually takes at least 2 days to get it, and if it is on a weekend add 2-3 more days. This type of impersonal patient sales, I can't say patient care, really concerns me and my company.

Is what states is this already set up in does anyone know?
