Hello all, I have a transfemoral patient who underwent bariatric sx and has lost 170#. She has not used her px in the past two years while losing weight. She has stabilized her weight, 164#, and is ready to try a prosthesis again. The problem is the excessive amount of redundant tissue and loose skin on her limb. What experiences have you had dealing with this? Would you recommend surgery to remove some of the tissue? What type of suspension would work best... if she doesn't get surgery? I appreciate any shared experiences you have had or any thoughts.
