Hi everyone. This is for the orthotists in the Houston, TX area. I received a call from a relative in the Houston area. He informed me he had fractured his distal fibula when he rolled his ankle, that he has rolled this ankle many times, but the swelling was more than normal this time, so he went to the doctor to have it checked out. He was told that he had at least five other pre-existing fractures of his ankle that had healed, and that the tendons had pulled off a piece of the distal fibula. I don't know who told him this or how that was determined. I assume he saw an MD who did an x-ray or MRI, but I don't know. He's a 34 year old construction contractor that is 6'4 tall and weighs about 240 pounds. He was told to contact an orthopedic surgeon to have the damage repaired. If any of you can refer a good orthopedic surgeon, please let me know.

Thanks,

James McCoy, C.P., L.P., FAAOP
