Dear list,
I am a student from India, working on a project for a custom removable immediate post operative prosthesis, I have already fitted the patient with fiber-glass reinforced socket with the knee fixed at 10 degrees of flexion, with distal endoskeletal extension and with inbuilt alignment coupling. I need suggestions from P&O practitioners who have experience on postoperative prosthetic fitting regarding the following criterias :
1. Standing- After how many hours it is permitted? However in some literature they say it 24 hrs.
2. Ambulation- the same after how many days? Some literature says it 2 days and in some literature the author is reluctant to mention it.
3. Removal of the Rigid Removable Dressing (RRD)
4. What is its prognosis?
5. After how many days the patient can be fitted with definitive prosthesis?
The latest techniques is most invited. Your suggestions are eagerly awaited.
Thanking you
Yours sincerely
