OPAF and The First Clinics will be hosting two favorite events next week at
the Academy Annual Meeting in Chicago. OPAF will again be hosting the New
Foot Technology Showcase, the one location in the exhibit hall where you may
do a side by side, hands on comparison of the latest and greatest in
prosthetic foot technology at the OPAF booth in the exhibit hall (Tables
223-224). Manufacturers participating in the New Foot Technology Showcase
include Ohio Willow Wood, Otto Bock, College Park, Motion Control,
Tensegrity, Mica, Endolite and The Fillauer Companies. Many of these
manufacturers are also donating one of their featured feet for Silent
Auction at the OPAF booth. The AOPA Prosthetic Foot Task Force will have
their education poster on display and available for reference. Please stop
by and see the latest and greatest in prosthetic feet at the OPAF booth!
On Thursday evening, February 25, OPAF will once again host our First Bid,
Live and Silent Auction. The evening will include Chicago hotdogs and
Italian beef sandwiches, a full bar with Cocktails for A Cause sponsor, O &
P Business News Next Gen-tini as the named drink of the evening. Items up
for auction include vacation spots in Cancun, Florida and Costa Rica, the
OPAF 1996 Paralympic Torch, a fabulous Chicago weekend package including
hotel, museum and sporting tickets and theater tickets and much much more.
We will also be featuring a one of a kind hand carved statue of an amputee
from Haiti, with 100% of the proceeds of this item going to benefit Helping
Hands for Haiti. For the current list of items up for auction at First Bid,
please visit the OPAF website at www.opfund.org. For the $10 admission, you
will have an evening of food, beverage and the incomparable talents of Brad
Mattear of O & P 1 as the evening's auctioneer. First Bid will be held in
the Regency Ballrooms A & B and runs from 7-9 PM. Proceeds from both events
benefit OPAF and The First Clinics, as the Official Philanthropy of the US
Orthotic & Prosthetic community.
For further information on either of these OPAF events or for more
information on OPAF and The First Clinics, please contact the OPAF office.
We look forward to seeing you in Chicago!
