For those of you that have been to St Vincent's P&O lab in downtown Port au
Prince.

Here is an update on Haiti from the Advantage Program/Les Cayes area.....

Regarding St. Vincent's School.... The Advantage Program Administrator,
Franckel Jeannot, dropped off the 18 children that we sponsor to attend St.
Vincent's on the Tuesday morning of the earthquake. After the earthquake we
received reports that the St. Vincent building had collapsed, but the
Episcopal Care website stated the St. Vincent kids were okay. On Thursday,
Franckel was able to get to the St. Vincent building to try to find the kids
we sponsor. He said that the building was hardly recognizable. Three of the
kids we sponsor were killed (Franckel found two dead in the rubble; the
third boy's body had already been taken away). Franckel transported the
remaining 9 children that we sponsor back to Les Cayes. The rest of our kids
had been picked up by family or friends in Port-au-Prince. One of our girls
had fallen from the 2nd floor of St. Vincent to the ground floor and broke
her ankle. The others have minor injuries. Many people are arriving at
Centre de Sante Lumiere i n Les Cayes and Hopital Lumiere (in Bonne Fin near
Cavallion) for medical help. Today, 4 private planes are to arrive to the
Les Cayes airport with medical supplies and an orthopedic surgical team.
They will begin doing surgery as soon as possible. The planes will leave
loaded with non-medical team members who were working our area at the time
of the earthquake.

Franckel's wife and two children were in Port-au-Prince at the time of the
earthquake. He was able to locate them. His daughter has two broken legs.

We are hoping to provide rehabilitation services as needed at Centre de
Sante Lumiere (at Cite Lumiere, just outside of Les Cayes, specifically
located in Simon). Our plaster casting materials have already been
exhausted. Hopefully, more will arrive on the planes today.

Thoughts are prayers are appreciated. If folks desire to contribute to the
rehabilitation efforts in Les Cayes, you can contact June Hanks (june-hanks@
