The CMS website specifically shows the following:

Note: Internet-based PECOS is not be available for durable medical
equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) suppliers. -

I called the helpdesk listed on the PECOS website and was informed that they
are not aware of any way for us to check a registry to verify if a
prescribing physician has registered (such as the NPI or UPIN databases we
can access). They suggested we contact our state's intermediary (with the
caution that the intermediary usually just supplies the PECOS helpdesk phone
number).

They suggested that we send a letter to every prescribing physician we deal
with asking them to register with PECOS.

Does anyone have more information on this? Is there a way to verify PECOS
registration of prescribing physicians/ARNPs/PAs?

Any information is greatly appreciated. I will compile and repost replies
without names.

Thank you,
