We have an active bilateral trans-radial amputee who is seeking a shower prosthesis for his dominant right arm.  We are trying to make it self-suspending and only have about 5cm from cubital fold to the end of the residual limb when the elbow is flexed to 90 degrees; therefore, elbow flexion range of motion beyond 90 degrees for showering will be limited with this style of prosthesis.  Being that the prosthesis needs to be waterproof and he has bilateral involvement, we would like to keep the design relatively simple and easy to don/doff.  He would like to be able to soap, shampoo, and possibly shave easier with this prosthesis in the shower.

The patient is currently using a body powered prosthesis with figure-8 harness and 5X hook terminal device on his right side for daily activities and has become very proficient.  Any advice and/or experience with this type of device would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance for your responses.
